What do you think is the #1 question we get asked by leaders all over the USA? "How can we attract more seekers to our Alpha course?" We at Alpha USA are always looking for ways to better serve you, and in response to this question, please may I suggest how you could use Easter to encourage more guests to come on your course this spring. Easter is a time when seekers are more open and may visit churches out of curiosity or by invitation. To make the most of this opportunity, the following is a suggested timeline of actions leading up to and during Easter, which this year is April 4th, so the dates below are with that in mind.
- Between now and Easter, prepare sermons and a letter from the Senior leader or Alpha pastor encouraging congregants to be thinking and praying about who to invite to the Easter service and/or Alpha.
- Here is a prayer card to help focus and multiply prayer efforts. It could be included in the letter or available for people to pick up at the end of services.
- The week of February 14th, order Why Easter? booklets (Why Jesus? with an Easter cover) and Alpha course invitations. * see special offer above
- The week of March 14th, do a local mailing and invite residents to attend your Easter service.
- The week of March 21st, train and encourage members to look out for and greet guests who show up and are not regular church attenders.
- The week of March 28th, prepare guest welcome packs. Included a Why Easter? Booklet and an Alpha invitation.
- Include an Alpha testimony during your Easter service. One Easter service, a pastor preached on the topic of "Evidence of the Resurrection". The "evidence" was transformed lives. He wove in stories of Alpha graduates and made the invitation to attend the next Alpha course that was starting the following week.
- Host your Introductory Dinner and decorate the tables with spring flowers. Graciously welcome every guest who comes.
